Mobile games like forge of empires2/1/2024 ![]() ![]() ![]() I’ve put over 1000 hours into the game and I’m still not dead, so it must be doing something right. It is exceptional, addictive and has great DLC. You have to build a country in about 4000 years, through many different historical eras, all the way to the future and beyond. It’s hard but addictive.Ĭivilization VI, one of the genre’s all-time classics, is the most recent title in the legendary series. So you can spend a lot of time investing in a character, but once they’re gone, they’re gone. While you have to defend against incoming attackers, you should also keep in mind that the game has permadeath. And it’s great!Īnother RTS for all the Viking fans out there, Bad North skews a little harder than your usual strategy game. What I mean is that the game has strategic elements, but also turn-based combat and RPG elements, while it’s all a bit of a roguelike. In fact, I think of it more as a banquet of lots of different things that you accidentally mix together, but then are suddenly surprised by how good it tastes. It’s a simple game, but delicious.įor the King can seem a bit like a Frankenstein’s monster with different mechanics and genres. It has a simple, endearing aesthetic, nice, laid-back music, and a more casual gameplay compared to some of the other games on this list. ![]() It’s the perfect companion when you’re on the go.Įven more relaxed than the previous game, Islanders is a procedurally generated city builder. It runs at a rather slow pace, but in a very good way. There’s trade, conquest and religion, but also wolves and undead warriors that threaten your faction. Your job is to settle a seemingly pristine island. If you are a fan of Norse mythology and strategy games, Northguard is the game for you. ![]()

I have had situations where the Cow Level portal does not open for me even after defeating Baal and logging in/out of the game. The exception to this rule is if you're using the PlugY mod which allows the portal to stay open no matter what. Additionally, if you defeat the Cow King inside of the Secret Cow Level you'll lose your ability to open the portal. ![]() In order for this recipe to work you must have killed Baal on your current difficulty and you also must be standing in the Rogue Encampment (Act 1).
